Biography: John O. Smith, Jr., 82, of Hanover, died Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at UPMC Hanover Hospital. Born April 21, 1941 in Hanover, he was the son of the late John O., Sr. and Roxie (Hagerman) Smith. He worked for Aero Midtown in Hanover, Phillips 66 in Littlestown, Kuhn Brothers and Bixler's Garage in Hanover. John is survived by his companion of 30 years, Janice Myers of Hanover, brother Jay Smith, Sr. of Hanover, sisters Peggy Young, Judy Wolf, and Pamela Smith, all of Hanover and Carolyn Boyers of McSherrystown and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Aloysuis "Joe"Smith and sisters, Joyce Dubs and Jane Hollingsworth. He was a member of the Midway Fire Company, Republican Club, Eagles and the Moose, all of Hanover. John liked dancing and his country music. Funeral Service is Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Little's Funeral Home in Littlestown with Pastor Nathaniel Hedin-Schmidt of New Hope Faith Community Church officiating. There will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover. Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.
