Richard F. Warner Sr., 85, of Taneytown died early Wednesday, November 23, at his home. He was the husband of Shirley A. Filler Warner who died November 12, 2011. Born March 7, 1931 in Taneytown, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Gladys M. Cutsail Warner. Dick served in the Army with the 34th infantry during the Korean Conflict. Only 184 of 1981 officers and enlisted men who were committed to action in the Pusan Perimeter in 1950 survived. Born Dec 12, 1925 in Littlestown, he was the son of the late Elmer R. & Mary Jane (Sponseller) Snyder. Bob was a 1943 Littlestown High School graduate. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943-46 and served in the Pacific Theater aboard the CVL carrier, the USS San Jacinto. Bob drove truck for Eddie’s Cleaners of Littlestown for many years and was a route supervisor for Utz Potato Chip Co. before retiring in 1988.
