Wayne Edward Rupert, age 88 years of Littlestown PA, passed away on September 9, 2025 at Paramount Senior Living, Chambersburg PA. Wayne was born December 10, 1936 in Escanaba MI to William Amos Ruppert and Ruth Marie Hood. His mother passed away when Wayne was only 5 years old, after which he lived with his maternal grandparents Boston and Edith (Pritchard) Hood on the U.P. of Michigan. 

Wayne served in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller from 1956 until 1959 and was stationed in South Korea and Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. He met his wife Catherine Estelle Thompson while stationed at Andrews. He continued his career as a civilian Air Traffic Controller in his until 1981. He retired from corporate America in 2000 and moved to Littlestown PA.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Michael (wife Rebecca Dymitro), Timothy and Kenneth (wife Karen Mullenhoff), two grandchildren (Sabryna Catherine (of Timothy) and Daniel Christian (of Kenneth)) and one step-grandchild (Nicholas Dymitro), and two great grandchildren (of Sabryna). 

He was preceded in death by his parents William Amos and Ruth Marie (Hood) Ruppert, sister Edith Darlene “Edie” (nee Ruperd) Adams of Conover Ohio, William Lewis Harding (born Ruperd) of Hudson Michigan and Gerald Lee “Jerry” Harding (born Ruperd) of Multnomah Oregon.
