Violet R. Flickinger, 83, formerly of Westminster, died Sun., Feb. 10, at Fairhavens Personal Care Home, Hanover. She was the widow of John C. Flickinger who died March 3, 2009. Born July 20, 1929 in Abington, VA, Violet was the daughter of the late David S. & Carrie (Osborne) Pennington. She was Westminster High School graduate and years ago was a secretary for Maryland Board of Education.   Violet is survived by daughter, Penny D. Pettie & husband, Steve, of Westminster. She was predeceased by a brother, Larry Pennington and 3 sisters: Madeline Irvin, Charlotte Saxon and Nevada Reinhardt. Violet was a member of St. Mary's Lutheran Church, Silver Run and LCW member of the church.   Funeral Service is Wed., Feb 13, at 11 A.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with her minister, The Rev. H. Lee Brumback, II officiating. Viewing is Tues 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Silver Run. Memorials in Violet's name may be sent to: VNA Hospice, 440 N.
