Vernon H. Study Sr., 98, formerly of Littlestown, died Tuesday Nov. 26 at Golden Living Center, Gettysburg. Vernon was the husband of Bernice O.( Wintrode) Study who died September 15, 1997. Born September 22, 1915 in Silver Run, he was the son of the late John E. and Mary Ellen (Bemiller) Study. Vernon worked for the Keystone Cabinet Company, Littlestown which later became Aristocraft from which he retired. He served with the Army 629th Engineer Construction Battalion in the Pacific Theater of Operations during WWII. He is survived by sons, Vernon H Study Jr. and wife Donna of Littlestown, Bruce A. Study and wife Michelle of Bonneauville and a daughter, Sandra L. Mummert and husband Stephen of Spring Grove. Grandchildren, Matthew Study, Caroline Foreman, Bradley Mummert, Brian Mummert, Kristy Cambuca, Dustin Study and a step grand daughter, Erica Barnes. Great Grandchildren, Grant, Jacob, Katherine, Margaret, Lauren, Katherine, Addison, Emme, Max, Roslyn and a sister Catherine Williams of Littlestown. Vernon was predeceased by a brother Roy E. Study Sr. and a sister Elizabeth Shamer. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, American Legion where he was a past Commander, V.F.W. and Alpha Fire Co., all of Littlestown. Vernon enjoyed his time at Golden Living playing bingo and attending Bible study. Funeral Service is Monday, Dec. 2, at 11 AM at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. Alex officiating. A viewing will be 1 hr. prior to the service, 10-11 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 53 West King St., Littlestown. The flag will be presented by the Littlestown Allied Veterans Council.
