Rodney E. Herring, 73, of Littlestown, died Tues, April 14, in Littlestown. He was the widower of Eileen A. (Crouse) Herring who died Jan 27, 2007. Born July 2, 1941 in Emmitsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Peter D. & Lulu (Andrew) Herring. He was a 1959 Emmitsburg High School graduate and was in the Army National Guard for 6 years. Rodney was employed with 3M National Advertising of Westminster for 36 years of service. Surviving are 3 daughters: Kimberly Dillman, Juli Ambrose & husband, Wayne, and Melissa Miller & husband, Jeffrey, all of Littlestown; 4 granddaughters: Amanda Lehr & Jonathan; Alicia DeGroft & Adam and Bethann & Deanna Ambrose; a great grandson, Brayden Lehr, the light of his life; a brother Donald A. Herring & wife, Vonnie, of Taneytown and 3 sisters: Gloria A. Eyler & husband, Richard, of Hanover; Thelma J. Byard & husband, Terry, of Hagerstown, MD and Sharon K. Keilholtz of Chambersburg. Rodney was predeceased by his son-in-law, Michael J. Dillman. He was a member of Redeemer’s UCC, Littlestown. Rodney missed his wife, Eileen, dearly. He enjoyed camping at Conewago Campground for 42 yrs, family trips to Ocean City & Myrtle Beach, his daily walks, dining with sister, Thelma, & brother-in-law, Terry and loved his grand puppies. Rodney’s true joy was playing with his great grandson, Brayden. Funeral Service is Monday, April 20, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. Sterling Fritz & Rev. Ted Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends 10 –11 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Interment is in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.
