Robert “Bob” Gene Spangler, 70, of Littlestown, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Gettysburg Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Karen L. (Ziegler) Spangler, Littlestown; together they shared 43 years of marriage.

Born October 19, 1955 in Gettysburg, he was the son of Grace (Horton) Spangler, Taneytown, MD and the late Gene Spangler.

Bob graduated from Francis Scott Key High School, Union Bridge, MD and owned a lawn mower repair shop.  He was previously employed with Schindler Elevator, Gettysburg and ESAB, Hanover.  In Bob’s free time he enjoyed drag racing, dirt track racing and working on classic cars.  Bob was always known to have a smile on his face and strike up a conservation with everyone.  His daughter, Brittany, always joked that he couldn’t go anywhere without knowing someone.  He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren especially watching them play sports. 

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his daughter, Brittany Spangler-Schue (Kevin), Littlestown; sisters, Patricia Cox and Debra Lowman (Wayne) both of Maryland, and two grandchildren, Ayden Spangler and Haisley Schue; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service to celebrate the life of Robert “Bob” Gene Spangler will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11AM at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown with Bob’s sister Debra Lowman officiating.  The family will receive friends and share memories on Tuesday from 10AM until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be private in Mountain View Cemetery, Harney, MD at a later date.

Before Bob’s passing his one request was for everyone that attends his memorial service to “come as they are” with no suits or ties.
