Robert G. Heltibridle, Sr., 76, of Hanover, died Friday A.M., May 4, at the Brethren Home, New Oxford. He was the husband of Janet (Forsythe) Heltibridle for almost 57 years. Born June 21, 1935 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Lee Garland & Lulu (Myers) Heltibridle. He was a '53 Westminster High School graduate and acquired an Associates degree from American University of Washington D.C. where he was in the 91st session of the FBI Academy. He served in the Secret Service in the uniform division for 24 years retiring in 1980 as Deputy Chief. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by a son, Robert G. Heltibridle, Jr. of Maurertown, VA; a daughter Winnie L. Heltibridle of Laurel, MD; two grandsons: Robert, III and James Heltibridle; 3 great grandsons and a sister Janet L. Machensey of Tampa, FL. Bob was predeceased by a sister Mona Long and 3 brothers: Keith, Donald and Leon Heltibridle. He was a member of St. Mary's Lutheran Church of Silver Run where he sang on the choir. He was also a member of Wakefield Valley Golf Course. Bob "couldn't wait till the sun came up to play golf." He also enjoyed baseball and football and especially watching the Orioles and Ravens. Funeral Service is Tuesday at 11 A.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with his pastor, The Rev. H. Lee Brumback, II officiating. Viewing will be Monday 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment is in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. Memorials in Bob's name may be sent to his church at 3978 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.
