Rhea Schott Gingrow Obituary

Rhea Schott Gingrow, 95, formerly of Littlestown, died Sunday, April 6, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.  She was the wife of the late William T. “Bill” Gingrow, Jr. who died Nov 5, 2010.  Born Dec. 16, 1918 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late A.W. & Helen (Weaver) Schott.  Rhea was a High School graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy, McSherrystown.  In addition to being a homemaker, Rhea worked in the family restaurant, Schottie’s in Littlestown.   She is survived by 2 sons:  William T. Gingrow, III & wife, Bridget, of Lancaster; Alfred S. Gingrow & wife, Beth, of Hanover;  a daughter, Jolene G. Sullivan & husband, Michael, of Westminster, MD; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Rhea was predeceased by a sister, Angela Long and 2 brothers:  Alfred & Bernard Schott. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and F.O.E., both of Littlestown and Bonneauville CWV. Rhea was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, enjoyed arts & crafts, was very giving and always offering a helping hand.    A Mass of Christian Burial is Thurs at 10 A.M. at her church with The Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant.  Viewing is Thurs 9 – 9:30 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown.  Interment is in the Parish Cemetery.  Memorials in Rhea’s name may be sent to:  St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 29 S.
