Michael E. Keefer, 74, of Littlestown, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carolyn J. (Holt) Keefer, Littlestown; together they shared 53 years of marriage.
Born January 8, 1951 in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Earl Robert and Mary Kathryn (Sanders) Keefer.
Mike was a 1969 graduate of Littlestown High School and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown. He worked for the Littlestown Foundry for 35 adjoining years, and was recognized by the PA House of Representatives for his part-time service for Germany Township “Road Crew” of 36 years. Mike was also a life member of the Littlestown Eagles and a member of the Littlestown and Harney VFW. He was an avid football fan, loyal to Littlestown Thunderbolts and Penn State football. Mike loved his hometown community. He deeply appreciated his friends and loved talking with anyone he met.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son Robert M. Keefer, of Barstow, CA, and grandsons Bryan and Joshua; daughter, Tesha Wheeler and husband Vern, Lancaster; grandchildren, Kayla Klein and husband Corey, Hanover, Wretha Noel Malesich and husband Shane, Mt. Joy and Ian Wheeler and wife Lindsay, Charleston, SC; 10 great grandchildren and sisters, Sue Wheeler and husband Paul, New York, Mariann Brown and husband Roger, Gettysburg, Kathy Hoch and husband Norm, Aspers and Alesia Wolf and husband Tim, New Oxford. He was pre-deceased by his infant son, Michael Keefer, Jr. and brothers, Thomas, Donald and Robert McGonigal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 10 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 29 S. Queen St., Littlestown with Rev. C. Anthony Miller, Celebrant. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 6 to 8 PM at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.
