Mary “Dolly” V. Markle, 97, of Littlestown, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Hanover Hall.  She was the loving wife of Roland U. Markle who passed away December 19, 2002.

Born June 30, 1928 in New Oxford, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Bernice (Roland) Inskip.

Dolly graduated from Manchester High School in 1943 after 11 years of schooling.  She married Roland Markle in 1947.  She was a homemaker until her children were in high school and then drove the school bus for 20 years.

She is survived by her sons, Ted Markle (Candy), Columbia, MD, Ken Markle (Haydee Beras), Silver Spring, MD and David Markle (Carla), Gardners, PA and grandchildren, Stacy Markle, Columbia, MD, Greg Markle (Heather), Silver Spring, MD, Elyssa Markle (Matt Roscher), Clifton, New South Wales, Australia and Kevin Markle (Nicholle), Ellicott City, MD.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 1 PM at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown with Rev. Richard Michael officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Saturday from 12 noon until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
