Larry I. Welk, 69, formerly of Littlestown, died Sun., Dec 21, at Golden Living Center, Gettysburg. He was the widower of Joann (Clingan) Smith Welk who died Apr 18, 2013. Born Apr 1, 1945 in Hanover, Larry was the son of the late David M. & Audrey V. (Barnhart) Welk. He attended Hanover High School and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Larry was a welder for Hadco of Littlestown retiring in 2000. Surviving are a daughter, Tammy L. Smith-Bolitski of Littlestown; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Harold l. Welk and Dale A. Welk, both of Hanover; and 2 sisters: Beverly A. Bankert of Hanover and his twin sister, Linda E. Fields of McSherrystown. Larry was predeceased by 2 sons: Ellis G. Smith, Jr. and Gregory K. Smith, Sr. and grandson, Greg Smith, Jr. Larry was a member of Harney VFW, Littlestown American Legion and F.O.E. Memorial Service is Sat., Dec 27, at 1 P.M. at Christ U.C.C., Littlestown with The Rev. Craig Arentz officiating. There will be no viewing and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
