Jordan Zachary Wagner Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jordan Zachary Wagner
Born: January 2, 1991 – Passed: December 21, 2024

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Jordan Zachary Wagner, who left us on December 21, 2024 at the age of 33 at Wellspan Gettysburg Hospital. Jordan brought endless joy and light into our lives, and his spirit will forever be a part of us.

Born January 2, 1991 in Gettysburg, Jordan was the loving son of Wendy Lee (Oaster) Wagner and Melvin E. Wagner, M.D., both of Gettysburg. Jordan graduated from Franklin Learning Center in 2012, where he loved to perform at the annual Christmas program.

In addition to his parents, Jordan is survived by his sisters, Kristin Wagner, Gettysburg, Allison Wagner, Etters and Sara Tatman and husband Jamey, Gettysburg; maternal grandmother, Deloris Oaster; paternal grandmother, Thelma Wagner; nieces and nephews, Mason Stem, Mia Stem, Leah Tatman and Colby Tatman; as well as aunts and uncles who all loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Oaster and his paternal grandfather, Richard Wagner.

Jordan was born with Down syndrome, but it was his remarkably kind heart, precious spirit, and pure unconditional love that defined him. From a young age, he had a special connection to music, often filling our home with the sounds of his favorite songs. Whether it was singing along to Christmas carols or dancing to his favorite songs, music was his language of joy. His love for the holiday season was unmatched, and every Christmas was a magical time for him—full of wonder and excitement for Santa and Christmas lights.

One of his greatest loves was his deep affection for Barney the Dinosaur. He would light up every time he heard the familiar Barney tunes, and watching his eyes sparkle as he interacted with Barney brought happiness to all who were lucky enough to witness it. His love for the simple joys of life and his ability to bring laughter and love into every room he entered were just a few of the many ways he touched our hearts.

Though he is no longer with us physically, his spirit will live on in every song, every Christmas light, and every memory of the beautiful, loving soul he was. He showed us all what it truly means to love without condition, to find joy in the smallest of things, and to appreciate the beauty in every moment.

We will carry him in our hearts forever. His love, laughter, and the memories of his sweet spirit will never fade.

Rest in peace, sweet Jordan. You are forever loved.
