Herman L. "Bud" Newman, 89, formerly of Littlestown, died Tues, Feb. 21, at the Masonic Care Health Center in Wallingford, Ct. Bud was the husband of Ruth E. (Pettyjohn) Newman also of Wallingford.   Born Oct. 11, 1922 in Carroll County, MD, he was the son of the late Wilmer B. and Mable (Bankert) Newman. Bud was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a Regional Service Manager for USM Corp of Harrisburg for 27 years and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Littlestown.   In addition to his wife, Bud is survived by a daughter, Karen Newman Smith and husband Steven of Cheshire ,CT and 3 grandchildren, Daniel Smith, Samantha Smith and Katherine Smith, all of Cheshire.  He was predeceased by a brother, John Newman. There will be a Funeral Service Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Littlestown with the Rev. Sandra R. Mackie officiating. There will be a viewing at the Church 1 hour before the service, 10-11. Interment is in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.  Memorials in Bud's name may be sent to:  American Cancer Society,  P.O.
