Fred W. Fissel, 95, of Hanover, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Columbia Cottage. He was the loving husband of Pearl W. (Good) Fissel who passed away September 28, 2014.
Born October 1, 1929 in Littlestown, he was the son of the late William B. and Marie E. (Ohler) Fissel.
Mr. Fissel was a farmer and a lifelong member of St. James U.C.C., Littlestown where he was very active, serving as Treasurer and on the Church Consistory. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Grange and the Young Farmers Association. Mr. Fissel enjoyed bowling, traveling and playing cards.
He is survived by his children, Marian Mikesell and husband Dan, Dillsburg, Diane Strickhouser and husband Richard, Taneytown, MD, Donna Hempfing and husband Gary, Hanover and Fred H. Fissel and wife Lori, Ft. Loudon, PA; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, James W. Fissel and sisters, Myrna Myers and Nadine Sentz.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 12 noon at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown with Pastor Scott Aument officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. James U.C.C. Cemetery Littlestown. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Strickhouser, Byron Mikesell, Greg Mikesell, Curt Hempfing, James Fissel and Nick Fissel.
