Frances A. Long, 91, of Littlestown, died Mon., April 14, at Martin’s Care Home in Kingsdale. She was the widow of Stewart N. “Lukie” Long who died Jan. 19, 2013. Born Dec 18, 1922 in Littlestown, Frances was the daughter of the late William V. & Mary A. (Hemler) Sneeringer. She was a 1941 St. Joseph Academy High School graduate in McSherrystown. Frances was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Geo. M. Zerfing’s Hardware in Littlestown for 23 yrs retiring in 1990. Surviving are 2 daughters: Joan F. Miller & husband, Robert, of Hanover; Diane M. Badolato & husband, Daniel, of Myrtle Beach, SC; 2 sons: James S. Long & wife, Marianne, and Gary R. Long, all of Littlestown; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a sister, Rita C. Riley of Hanover. Frances was predeceased by 3 brothers: George, Clement & Charles Sneeringer and 5 sisters: Sister Marie Assumpta, Sister Miriam Joseph, Julia Weiser, baby Genevieve and Rose Williams. Frances was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown where she was a member of the Friendly Group and a member of Parish Council of Catholic Women; a member of Square Dance Campers and an original member of the first girl scout troup #12 of Littlestown. Frances enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and camping with friends & family for over 40 yrs. Mass of Christian Burial is Tues, Apr 22, at 11 A.M. at her church with the Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant. Viewing is Mon, Apr 21, 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with prayers recited at 8 P.M. Interment is in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Frances’ name may be sent to her church @ 29 S. Queen St., Littlestown, PA 17340.
