Donald B. Arentz, 78, of Gettysburg, died Tues, Feb 11, at Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Baker) Arentz for 13 years. Born April 9, 1935 in Littlestown, he was the son of the late Ivan & Beatrice (Sterner) Arentz. He was owner/operator of D.B. Arentz Paving for 37 years and prior to that was employed with Local 542 Engineers of Harrisburg. Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 sons: James D. Arentz of Savannah, GA; Douglas J. Mummert of Littlestown; Brian L. Arentz of Gettysburg and a daughter, Carol M. Arentz Jones of Gettysburg; Stepchildren: Donna Ault and Joel Mummert, both of Hanover; Kim Curll of Gettysburg and Lori J. Welch of Emmitsburg, MD; 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Ivan “Mike” Arentz of Montana; Dale Arentz of Littlestown; 5 sisters: Ethel Abbott of TN; Mary Jane Small of Hanover; Beatrice Wallen of TN; Freda Bortner of Hanover and Debbie Grove of Littlestown. Donnie was predeceased by daughter, Kay E. Arentz Wagner; 3 brothers: Leroy, Clair and Vernon”Butch” Arentz; 2 sisters: Susan Gregg and Erma Topper. Donnie was a member of Christ U.C.C., Littlestown; FOE of Gettysburg and Sportsmen Club of Blue Ridge Summit. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral Service is Sat, Feb 15, at 11:30 A.M. at his church with The Rev. Craig Arentz & Pastor Garry Sheaffer officiating. Viewing is Fri 4 – 8 P.M. at the church. Interment is in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donnie’s name may be made to Christ U.C.C., 131 Christ Church Rd., Littlestown, PA 17340.
