Dixie Lee Wetzel Obituary

Dixie Lee Wetzel, 84, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at her daughter’s home in New Oxford.  She was the loving wife of Lorn Lee Wetzel who died February 16, 2010.


Born October 10, 1940 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Sylvester and Pearl Leila (Bowers) Gerrick.


Dixie worked for Carroll Shoes and retired from Hadco, Littlestown.  She enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends.


She is survived by her daughters, Lori Mummert, Littlestown and Jessica Phillips and husband Christopher, New Oxford; son, Fred Wetzel, Littlestown; grandchildren, Cassandra Wolfe, Littlestown, Brittany Strausbaugh and husband Michael, Newville, Georgia Wetzel, Silver Run, MD and Blake Phillips and wife Sage, McSherrystown and great grandson, Tanner Harmon, Littlestown.


Funeral service will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11 AM at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown with Rev. Michael P. Reid, II officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.  Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Wetzel, Tanner Harmon, Christopher Phillips, Blake Phillips, Michael Strausbaugh and Randy Wetzel.
