Darlene Grace Reed, of Littlestown, PA, peacefully passed away at home Sunday May 31, 2026 at the age of 82 years with her loving children by her side.

She was a very loving and giving person, always willing to help anyone, especially the poor, hungry, and lonely.  She was a gentle mother who always rushed quickly to our side whenever we had an injury (even when her kids were adults).  Family was very important to her and she would do anything to keep her family safe. A morning person, she loved to wake up saying, “Good morning, world!”, singing and listening to the birds singing outside.

Taking endless pictures of her family and reading novels brought her much joy. Darlene was proud of her children and their spouses. She loved her brothers and sisters and was always there to support and assist them.

She was a strong woman who survived numerous hardships in life, including cancer. 

She was the wife of Donald Lee Reed, who passed away April 17, 2025, after 63 years of marriage.  

Darlene was born September 17, 1943, in Germany Township outside of Littlestown, the 11th child of Calvin Leroy Mundorff and Anna Sevilla Parr.  She was affectionately called “Doll” by her father and family.                                  

She retired from Utz after 35 years.                                                                                                           

She was predeceased by a wonderful special friend and neighbor, Wilma King, brothers Harry Edward, Raymond Burnell, Robert Francis, and Earl “Reds” Leroy Mundorff; sisters Mary Anna Mundorff, Janet Huff, and Charlotte Barthold; and a little angel, Alexis, who was taken back to heaven during birth.

She is survived by her four children, Roxanne (Paul) Brown, Gary (Joanne) Reed, Daniel (Alfonso) Reed, and Donald (Joann) Reed; one brother, William “Bill” Mundorff, and sisters Jeanie Gartrell, Betty (Jim) Rang, Susan Frock, and Pearl Brown.  She was extremely proud of her 11 grandchildren Jeremy, Greg, Brad, Heather, Jacob, Lacy, Taylor, Spencer, Jenna, Derek and Grace.  Also 11 great- grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11AM at Christ Church Cemetery, 131 Christ Church Road, Littlestown with Pastor Shane Fritz officiating.                                     

A small luncheon will be held after the graveside service in the Church.  In place of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Society.
