Claire A. Blakley, 79, died early Sunday, Jan 12, at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg. She was the wife of James H. Blakley who died in 2002. Born November 17, 1934 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Celester W. and Mildred A. (Bishop) Bankert. Claire was a high school graduate and worked in food services in Baltimore. Surviving are 3 sons: Wayne C. Johnson of White Plains, MD; Clifford G. Johnson of Essex, MD and Russell S. Johnson of Littlestown; 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers: James Thomas Bankert of La Quinta, CA and Stephen E. Bankert of Melbourne, FL. Claire was predeceased by 2 sons: Hughes D. Johnson, Jr. & Brian T. Johnson; grandson, Brian J. Johnson and brother, Robert C. Bankert. She was a member of VFW Aux in NC. Claire loved animals and was a member of the Humane Society. Memorial Service is Fri, Jan 17, at 10 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,127 York St., Hanover with Pastor Robert Burkhart officiating. There will be no viewing. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Cemetery, Boonville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Claire’s name may be made to: Alzheimer’s Assoc., 3544 N.
