CATHERINE ESTELLE THOMPSON (87) passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Paramount Senior Living, Chambersburg PA. She was born on February 4, 1938 at home in the District of Columbia, Washington D.C.  She graduated from St. Patrick’s Academy in Washington, DC in June 1956 and with her family in Landover, MD., before marrying the late Wayne Edward Rupert on September 25, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 7401 Buchanan Street in Landover Hills, Prince Georges County Maryland. 

In addition to being a wife and mother, Catherine worked for Ohio Bell in Columbus Ohio before accepting a position with C&P Telephone in Maryland. She retired from Bell Atlantic (formerly C&P Telephone) after 22 years of service and relocated to Littlestown, PA. 

Catherine is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Wayne Edward Rupert, her two sisters Mary Ellen DeChristopher of Williamsburg, VA., and Dorthy Ann Offenbacher of Mount Airy, Maryland. Also preceding her in death was her nephews Albert Hatch DeChristopher JR. and Steven Offenbacher and nieces Carole McCullough and Laura Huggett.

Catherine is survived by her three sons Michael, Timothy (Partner LeeAnn) and Kenneth, two grandchildren (Sammantha Leigh and Sabryna Catherine (of Timothy) and two great grandchildren Maveric and Jaxon (of Sabryna).
