Blanche E. Arter Obituary

Blanche E. Arter, 92, formerly of Littlestown, died Mon, Dec 14, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover.  She was the widow of Burnell A. Arter who died Nov 20, 1971.  Born Aug 2, 1923 in York, Blanche was the daughter of the late Edward & Ada Belle (Felty) Ferris.  She was raised by her grandparents, Harry & Sarah Felty of New Oxford after the death of her parents.  Blanche had helped her husband deliver baked goods for Manbeck’s Bread.  After his death, she went to work for Eddie’s Cleaners in both Littlestown and Gettysburg retiring in the 1990’s.    Blanche is survived by her nieces:  Sidney Ferris Muller of Westminster; Linda Ferris Eby of Littlestown; Felicia Bortner Thompson of Sedona, AZ; her nephew, Edward E. Ferris of Littlestown and many great nieces and nephews.  Blanche was predeceased by her sister, Helen ”Ruth” Bortner Campbell and her brother, Clarence F. Ferris.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown.   Funeral Service is Thurs, Dec 17, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with Sister Deb McClellan of St. Luke’s officiating.  Viewing is 10 –11 A.M. Thurs at the funeral home.  Interment is in Mt.
