Betty R. Groft Obituary

Betty R. Groft, 81 of Taneytown died Sat July 27 at Lorien Taneytown. She was the wife of Earl S. Groft Jr who died February 16, 2013. Born August 16, 1931 in Upperco, MD, she was the daughter of the late H. Carroll and Elsie May Tracey Martin. Betty worked for different sewing factories as a seamstress and was a housewife. She is survived by sons, Brian Groft and wife Patricia of Union Mills, Frank Staub and wife Judy of Hanover and a daughter, Luann Horn and husband Kenneth of Forrest Hill, MD. 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brothers Robert Martin of Manchester, MD and Ivan martin of Manchester, MD. She was predeceased by a brother Eldridge Martin. Betty was a member of Faith Community Bible Church in Union Mills. A  Funeral service will be Thursday Aug 1 at 1 PM at Faith Community Bible Church of Union Mills with Pastor John Stiles officiating. There will be no viewing. Internment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Run. Memorial contributions may go to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157. Online condolences to www.littlesfh.com
