Bertha M. Melick, 99, of Gettysburg, died Wed, Feb 25, at Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village. She was the widow of Harold Francis Melick. Born March 28, 1915 in Brockton, MA, Bertha was the daughter of the late Amedio, Sr. & Mary (Perri) Mackenzie. Bertha was a high school graduate and a homemaker. Surviving are 3 daughters; Mary Ann Marshall of Littlestown; Doris M. Schwalm of Taneytown and Elizabeth Mary of Calverton, MD; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a brother, Amedio Mackenzie, Jr. of Maryland. Bertha was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She was a member of Hancock United Methodist Church of Hancock, MD. Bertha loved gardening and enjoyed walking and cooking Italian dishes, especially spaghetti. Graveside Services are private in Glenwood Cemetery of Washington, DC.
