Biography:

Earl R. Welty, Jr., 92, of Taneytown, died early Thurs A.M., March 29, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover.  He was the widower of Ethel M. (Halter) Welty who died Nov 3, 2016.  Born Oct 13, 1925 in Detour, MD, Earl was the son of the late Earl M., Sr. & Bessie S. (Stambaugh) Welty.  He was formerly employed with Windsor Shoe in Littlestown and retired from Black & Decker of Hampstead in 1986.
 
Surviving is his son, Larry R. Welty & wife, Linda, of Abbottstown; his daughter, Susan W. Lehigh & Michael of Taneytown; his 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and his brother, Ronnie E. Welty of Littlestown.  Earl was predeceased by his brother, Norman Welty and his sister, Catherine Sanders.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Harney.  Earl was well known for his fond making of grandfather clocks and furniture, gardening, love of blue grass music and spending time with his family.
 
Funeral Service is Monday, April 2, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. Peter Naschke officiating. Viewing is Monday 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.  Interment is in Mountain View Cemetery, Harney.  Memorials in Earl’s name may be sent to his church @ 2918 Conover Rd., Taneytown, MD  21787.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com

Was so sorry to hear of the passing of Earl, his soft spoken ways and love for his family will be greatly missed. He is now with the love of his life looking down upon his family.
