Well it's almost been a year and sting of loss burns my eyes all over again. You've missed out on meeting one new great grand and another is on it's way. I pray you held them first and are able to watch us from Heaven above. You have to know you were meant to raise us all and give your wisdom to so many. I'm proud of all you've done for the family and I miss you. Thank you Dad for being there to guide us away from stupidity. Lol. Rest easy now you did so much over your 81 yrs..I love you Dad! Until the chain is linked again.

Reading through everyone’s notes about you a few months after you have passed brings me to tears once again. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve taught me in my 19 years of life. I’ll miss the never ending phone calls, and donut dates. I love you forever and a day, Pop pop thank you for simply being you. My heart breaks that you’re no longer here, until we meet again. I love you.

Denise, Geoff and the girls: our deepest sympathies. Charlie, as we knew him, was a great man and a good friend. Although it was sad to see him fade, he kept smiling and sounding positive. We'll miss him.

I’ll always remember going to the DCFD Credit Union as a young firefighter trying to get a loan and being terrorized by Charlie with his gruff persona, but as I was leaving I would always see this wry smile on him. It was pretty funny.

RIP and condolences to his loved ones.
