Biography:

James H. Showvaker, 82, of Littlestown, died Sunday, Oct 15, at his home.  He was the husband of Shirley (Storm) Showvaker for 64 yrs.  Born April 28, 1935 in Barlow, Jim was the son of the late Harry J. & Kathryn (Ditzler) Showvaker.  He was owner/operator of James Showvaker Masonry for 54 yrs retiring in 2010. 
 
Surviving is his daughter, Wanda A. Golden & husband, Chris, of Gettysburg;  his brothers Glenn R. Showvaker of McSherrystown and Jay C. Showvaker of Hanover; his sisters Donna M. Babin of Houston, TX and Shirley A. Hahn of Spring Grove.  Jim was predeceased by his son, Stephen D. Showvaker, his sister Geraldine Harner and his brother C. Leon Showvaker.  Jim was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg.  He was a very hard worker and loved spending time with his family.
 
Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, Oct 20, at 10 A.M. at his church on 25 W. High St. with The Rev. Daniel Hitzel as Celebrant.  Viewing is Thursday 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown.  Interment is in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Littlestown.  Memorials in James’ name may be sent to AseraCare – 44 Bowman Rd., York PA  17408  or Adams County SPCA - 11 Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA  17325.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com

What a surprise! I will miss that Sunday Morning Breakfast meeting at Dutterers. He will be missed by many.
