Biography: Erich Michael Halter, 29 of Gettysburg passed away unexpectantly as a result of a car accident on October 18, 2016. He was the son of the late Erich G. Halter and Teresa M. Halter of Gettysburg. He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Hildegard C. Halter of Littlestown and two sisters, Melissa Gladfelter and her husband Scott Gladfelter of East Berlin as well as Lindsae Kimmey of McSherrystown. Erich leaves behind his two beautiful daughters, Adalyn Hilker of Littlestown and Julianna Halter of McSherrystown who were his world. He also leaves behind the love of his life, Kayla Lawrence of Hagerstown. In addition to his father, Erich was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, George E. Halter, Sr.
Erich possessed an outgoing personality and an exuberance for life. He made friends everywhere he went and those who met him would agree that he was one of the best friends you could ask for. Erich would never judge a person for their mistakes and he would always support those he cared about no matter the circumstances or the endeavor. The energy and presence Erich naturally brought is irreplaceable. His contagious laughter and loving personality will be greatly missed by every life he has touched.
The family is planning a memorial to celebrate Erich’s life in November with details to follow.
