Biography:
Frank Hodas, 88, formerly of Merrick, NY, died Fri, Aug 26, at his home in Littlestown, PA. He was the widower of the late Margaret R. (Capik) Hodas who died July 13, 2009. Born March 9, 1928 in Kammena Poruba, Slovakia, Frank was the son of the late Pavel & Maria (Baranak) Hodas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a technical school graduate. Frank was an auto mechanic.
Surviving are his 3 children: Margaret M. Hodas-Walsh of Herndon, VA; Elizabeth K. Perna of Littlestown, with whom he resided; and Thomas P. Hodas of N. Merrick, NY; his 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and his sister, Anastasia Jasenovski. Frank was predeceased by his son, Richard F. Hodas; his brother, Ivan Hodas and sisters, Maria and Olga Hodas. Frank loved to visit and talk with people. He enjoyed gardening and traveling to upstate NY, hunting and walking through the mountains.
Viewings are Sunday 3 – 5 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown and Tues, Aug 30, 5 – 7 P.M. at Zacharias Funeral Home, Deposit, NY. Funeral Mass is Wed 10 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, Deposit with The Rev. Robert Dwyer Celebrant. Interment is in Anthony Cemetery, N. Sanford.
