Biography:

F. Virginia (Ginny) Myers, 80, formerly of Littlestown, currently of Hanover, died Friday, August 26, at Hanover Hospital.  She was the wife of Willis J. Myers for 61 years. Born August 30, 1935, in Stewartstown and raised in Kingsdale, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Lillian (Bose) Doss and late stepmother, Lavaun Doss. Along with her husband, Ginny founded Willis J. Myers Floorcovering in Littlestown and co-managed the company from 1967-2004.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her children and their spouses:  Willis and Denise (Garrett) Myers of Hanover, Crystal Myers and Randall Horst of Columbia, MD, Mike Myers and Mauri Lovelace of East Berlin; her second family of children of deceased brother, Bradley Doss – Dan and Ginny Doss and Edward Tipton;  her grandchildren:  Janelle, Benjamin and Alex Myers, Sarah (Dillon) Shue, Jerome Dillon and Skylyr Johnson; her great grandchildren:  Cash, Ezra and Jameson Myers, Mason and Dillon Shue and Kaylee Dillon; her sisters:  Lillie Houck and Anna Wagner of Hanover and Mary Rippeon of Littlestown.

Ginny was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Littlestown. Throughout her life, as a homemaker, mother and organizer extraordinaire, she was involved in: Bible study, Women’s and other church ministries, Girl Scout leadership, bowling, sewing, baking from scratch, and inspiring, supporting and managing many family enterprises. She traveled to Acapulco, Alaska, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and San Francisco; took many vacations to central Florida; and enjoyed quiet time at the family Conewago Creek cabin. Ginny was a creative, resourceful and optimistic woman, who was dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren and church community. With a combination of commonsense, wisdom and integrity, she had a unique ability to see the best path to accomplish anything and then resolutely moved forward without being swayed by the typical approach. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.

Sincere sympathy to the Myers family. I have memories of some visits when we were children to visit my mother's (Hazel Ring Bisker) cousins. May God's grace rain upon the entire family in abundance during your time of sorrow and grief.
