Biography:

Alethea J. Gall, 89, formerly of Littlestown, died Thurs., Sept 4, at Hanover Hospital. She was the widow of Elmer W. Gall who died March 11, 1995.  Born July 31, 1925 in Littlestown, she was the daughter of the late Maurice & Stella Mae (Staley) Rider.  Alethea was a  Littlestown High School grad and a  Shippensburg College graduate.  She was an elementary school teacher in Littlestown and had also taught business courses at Southwestern High School.
 
Surviving are two sons:  William R. Gall of Spring Grove; Russ J. Gall & wife, Pamela, of Hanover; a daughter, Stephanie A. Kittel & husband, Ed, of Anchorage, AK; 4 grandchildren:  Turk Younkins, Jordan & Kylie Gall and Adora Gall and 2 great grandchildren.  Alethea was predeceased by 2 sisters, Betty Baker and Winifred “Jim” Rood.  Alethea was a member of Redeemer’s U.C.C., Littlestown. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
 
Memorial Service is Friday, Oct 24, at 11 A.M. at her church with her pastor, The Rev. Sterling Fritz officiating.  There will be no viewing.  Inurnment is in Arlington National Cemetery, VA.  Memorials in Alethea’s name may be made to her church at 107 E. My sincere condolences on the loss of your Mother. I have always thought very highly of your Mother, and Dad, as I was growing up on w. Myrtle St.. I always looked up to them as friends, good neighbors, and role models.
