Biography:

Marianna C. Trone, 92, of Littlestown, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg.  She was the wife of Harold E. Trone of Littlestown.  Born Dec 14, 1931 in Westminster, Marianna was the daughter of the late Luigi & Lucia (Amato) Catalino. Surviving in addition to her husband are her children:  Sharon C. Pirrotta & Anthony Scafuri of Mahopac, NY;  Harold E. Trone, II of Littlestown; Victor A. Trone & Trina of Littlestown and Christopher G. Trone of Hanover; her grandchildren:  Christina, Joseph, Nathan, Tyler and Hannah; her great grandchildren: Isabella, Adriana, James, Luke, Valentina and Dominic and her sister, Santina Cicatelli of Rye, NY.  Marianna was predeceased by her siblings, Louis and Samuel Catalino and Angela Sentz.
 
 Marianna was a 1950 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown. She served on the boards of Gettysburg Hospital and Cancer.  She also served as vice president on the Senior Citizen board in the 80's; also a coordinator of the start of Meals-on-Wheels and assisted in the "Fly-In" at Christmas for the young. Marianna worked as a major volunteer when the Food Bank in Littlestown started on a regular monthly distribution to families in need who included about 120 families.  She studied voice and music for some 10 years and served as a cantor at St. Aloysius.  She was involved in fund raisers at St. Aloysius, mainly organizing and preparing banquets, dinners and weekly bingos.  Marianna served a term as president of the C.C.W. in 1974.  She was a recipient of the MLS King Living Legacy Award on Nov 2022.  She loved to cook and cherished spending time with her family.

Memorial Mass is Monday, July 22, at 10 A.M. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church  with The Rev. C. Anthony Miller Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.  Memorials in Marianna's name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,  501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-1942.  Online condolences may be shared on littlesfh.com.

Chris, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. No words will lessen the loss of such a great woman. Remember all of the wonderful times spent with her and keep those memories close to your heart. God bless you and your family at this difficult time.
